Warren or Clinton County residents who have an interest in assisting the direction of local alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services are invited to apply for a position on the volunteer board of directors for Mental Health Recovery Board Serving Warren & Clinton Counties (MHRB) coming available on July 1, 2021.MHRB is the local board of alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services covering Warren and Clinton Counties. It is responsible for planning, funding, monitoring, and evaluating the system of services of residents with mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.According to the Ohio Revised Code Chapter 340, applicants must be residents of either Warren or Clinton Counties and have an interest in mental health programs and facilities or in alcohol or drug addiction programs. Board members terms are typically 4 years in length.Selected individuals would be part of a 14 member board representing a variety of interests including professionals from the mental health and substance addiction fields, family members, individuals in recovery and community representatives.

A board member is also required to be an ambassador of the organization and its mission to potential donors and others within the community.Duties and Requirements: 1. A board member should be on at least one sub-committee (Internal, Development or UpSpring Benefit Bash) of the board of trustees. 2. A board member is required to attend at least 75% of all full board meetings and assigned committee meetings. Board member may call into meeting, if necessary. 3. A board member is required to directly raise or contribute $1,000 in each fiscal year. 4. A board member is required to attend a minimum of 3 organizational program events (Summer 360, Resource Collaborative, After School). (highly recommended that 2 are during the summer camps). 5. A board member is expected to review all agendas and supporting materials prior to board and committee meetings. 6. A board member is expected to certify annually that they have no conflicts of interest with the organization and that they have met the duties and requirements listed above.Term: A board member’s term will consist of two years beginning with the month they are elected to the board by the other board members. The term of service will be limited to three consecutive terms unless (a) voted by a three-fourths majority of the total number of Trustees and Officers to serve an additional term and (b) the Board is not fully seated.New Board Member Nominations: A potential board member can be added at any point during the year. A current board member will recommend a potential board member to the Internal Committee members. At least one member of the Internal Committee will interview the nominated board member and make a recommendation to the board. When a quorum is obtained (either electronically or in-person), the potential board member may join the next board meeting.
