Our board | EXPECTATIONS OF THE BOARD AS A WHOLE The mission of Generation Organization is to provide all young professionals with world-class networking, mentorship, and career training.. As the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the board is responsible for • determining the mission and purposes of the organization • selecting and evaluating the performance of the CEO/ executive director • strategic and organizational planning • ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management • fundraising and resource development • approving and monitoring Generation NOW Organization’s programs and services • enhancing Generation NOW Organization’s public image • assessing its own performance as the governing body of Generation NOW Organization EXPECTATIONS OF INDIVIDUAL BOARD MEMBERS Each individual board member is expected to • know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs • faithfully read and understand the organization’s financial statements • serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for Generation NOW Organization to advance its mission • leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve Generation NOW’s mission • give a meaningful personal financial donation • help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing, and can influence public policy • prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings • participate fully in one or more committees Board Member BOARD MEMBERS ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO • follow the organization’s bylaws, policies, and board resolutions • sign an annual conflict-of-interest disclosure and update it during the year if necessary, as well as disclose potential conflicts before meetings and actual conflicts during meetings https://www.gennowcincy.org/mission-vision-and-values |

Position | This purpose of this committee is to work with the Staff to create, communicate, deliver, and exchange offerings that spread the mission and name of Generation NOW to a targeted audience. The Committee creates and reviews proposed marketing strategies and works with the staff to see them through to completion.The Marketing Committee will ensure marketing activities effectively accomplish the mission To provide all young professionals with world-class networking, mentorship, and career training. |

Requirements | MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop the annual marketing strategic plan and budget in cooperation with the Development Director. • Help identify and recruit marketing, PR and media sponsors and other marketing committee members. • Partner with Staff as necessary for special projects, problem solving, and consultation.EXPECTATIONS • Make the appropriate time commitment to attend and participate in meetings, with additional time as required for other preparation and special projects. • Be prompt and attend all meetings of the Marketing Committee. If it is necessary to be absent (i.e. an unavoidable work situation or illness) the member will inform the committee chair or staff. • Actively participate in and contribute to the discussion by making ideas and feelings known. • Be good ambassadors for Generation NOW and promote its mission. |
