Serve as a camp buddy for kids, teens and young adults in our summer day camps at our Given campus. Be a camp companion for our Overnight Camp guests at our Allyn Campus.
Help collect native wildflower seed for the Center for Conservation’s Native Plant Propagation program. Work with staff in harvesting and processing seed from CNC’s forest and fields as a group, in pairs, or individually. Seed collection work occurs primary from September through November.
Serve as a docent in the museum.
A growing group of volunteers and kids who get together on Saturday mornings (January – May) for some fun, faith, and positive role modeling through a variety of activities.
Cook a meal for the 30 women and children in our shelter, and drop off the meal around 3PM on any day of the week! Great way to help from the comfort of your home and engage children in a good cause.
Host an activity night at our shelter for homeless women and children. Activities could be geared towards adults, children, or both! Shelter activity nights happen Sunday-Thursday, 7:30PM-8:30PM.
From open mic nights to Ride for Reading, WordPlay hosts several community events throughout the year. And the more people we have around to help, the better! Duties may include setting up/cleaning up; distributing flyers; greeting attendees and showing them where to go; serving food and drinks; and taking photos.
