Visit with a patient / family to provide companionship, friendship, conversations, reading, playing a game, or providing alternative therapies (if needed) such as massage, Reiki, music, art, etc. Companionship volunteers sit with people while families run errands and share common experiences.
Assist with special events/programs in the communities we serve (Bingo, activities, etc.) or help raise awareness in the community more broadly (Example: Health Fairs).
Any kind of office or administrative help, such as answering the phones, filing, data entry, making copies, assembling packets, stuffing envelopes, etc.
Supporting special projects behind the scenes.
Youth Volunteers (between the ages of 14-17) may volunteer to assist with the administrative duties within our office.
Assisting in our bereavement department.
Offering companionship and support to our patients and their family members.
Providing assistance with clerical duties within our office.
Deliver nutritious meals to homebound older adults. Deliver meals in a timely, courteous manner. Check on the welfare of customers. Notify CSSI of any problems or irregularities. Reimbursement for mileage.
Provide safety checks and limited, informal support to the homebound senior. Mutually agreed upon by both volunteer and customer. This may include shopping, visiting, or running errands. Check on the customer’s wellbeing. Notify CSSI or emergency contacts of any problems or irregularities.
