Committee – Volunteer/Outreach

Our board	Do you have a passion for working with children? Are you looking to make a difference in your community? Our mission is simple: To give families throughout Clermont County safety resources through outreach, trainings, and events. One of the major projects that the organization will be undertaking will be creating a free standing, child-sized, interactive Safety Village for all children, families, and community members who reside in Clermont County. Position	The Community Outreach Committee is a standing committee with goals of conducting a variety of educational and awareness outreach activities to make our organizations presence known to Clermont County and surrounding communities.Membership of the Community Outreach Committee is reviewed by the President. The Community Outreach Director, Committee Members will work together to determine committee needs and will brainstorm new and potential committee members.

Commitment	3 to 5 hours/month

Donation	We strive for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.

Requirements	Duties of all Caution for Kids of Clermont County Board Members:Board members are expected to be fully informed on organizational matters, to contribute to debate on issues and to contribute to the Board’s policy deliberations. They are expected to understand and support Caution for Kids of Clermont County’s mission statement and strategic plan.Board member duties include the following: Attend meetings and show commitment to Board activities. Be well informed on issues and agenda items in advance to meetings. Participate on one or more committees or in an ad hoc manner as requested by the Board President or Vice President. Monitor public response to the work and policies of the Organization. Participate in Board orientation meetings to ensure organizational and fund development knowledge and to participate in volunteer and donor recognition events. Provide candid, open, and honest feedback and evaluation when appropriate. Take initiative in informing the organization about opportunities for funding or program development. Identify individuals in the community for volunteer participation or funding support. Provide leadership within the Board and in the community on behalf of the organization and its programs.

On-boarding	Once applicant has been approved to serve on the Caution for Kids Board of Directors, board members will complete a formal board orientation and will be placed with a veteran board mentor.

Additional Info	The Committee will: Provide input and create framework for new programs. Monitor and examine progress toward program goals and objectives on a consistent basis. Evaluate and explore opportunities of potential partnerships. Engage in advocacy and networking. Work to develop a Community Outreach Toolkit Develop an annual calendar for the committee’s activities, including critical dates, milestones, and required board actions. Develop a community calendar of potential events where Caution for Kids could potentially set up an information table/have Child ID programs at; includes costs of table, contact person, dates, etc. Offer suggestions for no-cost, low cost, or grant-supported activities that focus attention and resources on a strong and diverse audience for Caution for Kids. Committee Members Responsibilities: Serves in an advisory role to guide the committee. Expresses ideas and provides input. Actively participates in meetings, contributing to the discussion, brainstorming, and sharing innovative ideas. Reviews material and provides input for improvement. Serves as internal/external linkages for Caution for Kids to open doors to further the organization’s mission and vision. Participate in the development and implementation of the committee work plan.
