Board Treasurer

Our boardever The Less, Inc. is a non-profit organization empowering Cincinnati area 7th-12th grade girls through social and emotional education and job readiness development programs. We are focused and serve girls through our after- school activities, summer camps, co-operative internships, and in-school education programs.Our Board of Directors is a "Working Board" of volunteers who supervises our staff and volunteers work with our girls in the achievement of our organization's mission. Our goal is to become an organization with about 12 Board Members meeting regularly to discuss the strategic planning and long-term mission achievement of the organization.Our volunteers are invited by students, parents, teachers, counselors, and even court guardians to become involved the lives of our girls to encourage their personal and academic development. As an organization, we help them to better understand their potential, help foster a positive vision for their future, and improve their inter-personal relationship skills with peers and adults.  The girls have fun, develop friendships, and learn skills that empower them to have a more positive future. The girls develop a better "sense of self" through our academic, spiritual, and career development programs as we introduce them to positive female role models and mentors.
PositionTreasurer and  Financial accounting.  The goal of this role is to help us  get our financial accounting  and management  to standards that are attractive to grant organizations and  foundations. The goal is also  to encourage  donations and  receipt of grants

RequirementsBOARD OF DIRECTORS
  • Authority and Duties. The Board of Directors shall have general supervision and charge of the property, affairs, and finances of the Corporation.
  • The number of Directors shall be fixed from time to time by the Directors but shall be no fewer than three (3) directors.
Our Directors are responsible for overseeing the organization’s programs and activities. We meet at least twice a year, but regularly have monthly meetings to carry out the programs and activities responsibly. We expect our board members to use their meetings to discuss matters that affect our organization. Board discussions provide varied perspectives as the board votes and makes decisions.As our governing body and leadership outreach to the community, we expect our Board Members to care about our mission, seek to achieve our goals, and act professionally and ethically in all their duties and interactions in the Cincinnati community. We want our Board Members to have experience as a volunteer serving teenage girls as well as have diversified skills and careers that represent the potential for our girls to have a successful career and a life of meaning and impact. We encourage Board Members to volunteer and also encourage others to volunteer for our organization.In accordance with our bylaws, the primary duties of the Board of Directors is to develop and implement the strategic vision, goals, tasks, and milestones of the organization. It creates strategy, sets goals and objectives, oversees programs and activities, and actively manages risks. It acts as the ultimate supervisor of the Executive Director and the operational staff.

Our missionNever The Less Inc.’s is a faith-based, 501C(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide teachings and services that promotes character, confidence, self-sufficiency and sustainability for at-risk girls (ages 11 – 17 years old) in the city of Cincinnati. Our mission is to inspire learning and to build healthier lives that strengthen our community.
