The Last Mile Food Rescue Board will meet for the first time on October 23, 2019. Currently has three members including Board Chair. We are looking to slowly add positions that have expertise as CFO, Supply Chain / Logistics Executive in the Food Industry and possibly other areas.
The Board Member - Program position requires Supply Chain / Logistics Executive experience. Last Mile Food Rescue volunteer drivers will use her/his own car to take food that would normally be thrown away from donors (e.g. spermarkets, wholesalers, restaurants etc.) and drive it directly to partner food pantries. Supply Chain / Logistics expertise will ensure Last Mile Food Rescue utilizes best practices on training, just-in-time mindset, volunteer optimization and excitement, and safe-food handling training.

Active guidance, near 100% attendance to Board meetings and demonstrated regional leadership experience in Corporate or Non-Profit organizations. A track record of individual accomplishments that benefit the region.
We are designing this program now. It will include experiential learning via visits to Freestore Food Bank, pantries and meeting individuals who benefit from food assistance.
Previous food industry experience would be helpful.
