Our boardThe Board of the Character Council consists of like-minded community and business leaders who desire to foster increased awareness and the development of good character in the Greater Cincinnati region. The purpose of the Board is to provide clear vision and direction for the organization, increase public knowledge and understanding of the mission of the Council, and to build sources of revenues and donation.Board members represent the four initiatives of the Character Council: business, education, government/non-profit/community, and faith. They also support our:• Mission – To foster character development in children and adults as a foundation for success in life;• Vision – To work within organizations to facilitate positive cultural change, contributing to an enhanced society through an unwavering personal focus on good character; and• Founding Principles – That the community can unite around common truths and that a systematic focus on these truths and qualities will bring about positive change.
PositionThis Board Member would advise on Human Resources practices for our small staff.

RequirementsFull document will be provided with initial inquiry: The Character Council Board provides Leadership, Governance, and Oversight, as well as financial support commensurate with each Board Members capacity. Responsibilities include attending the annual strategic planning meeting and approving an annual budget, reviewing outcomes and metrics to evaluate impact, contributing to the annual performance evaluation of the Executive Director, assisting with recruiting new Board Members, and representing the Character Council and the mission to Committee Members, investors, donors, and the overall community.
On-boardingOnce nominated and voted into office by the current Board, new board members are required to participate in an orientation meeting and training on the organization's mission and operation. New board members will be asked to sign a job description and social covenant, both of which will be provided prior to being voted onto the Board.
