Board Member – Governance
| Our board | The mission of La Soupe is to bridge the gap between food waste and hunger by keeping perishables from the landfill and instead used to create delicious and highly nutritious meals for the food insecure and our supporters. Suzy DeYoung founded La Soupe with the vision that everyone deserves to have access to healthy food, regardless of their economic situation. Using a chef-driven model, the team of professionally trained chefs develop recipes and create meals from whatever produce, protein, and starch they might receive that week. Using its network of over 100 Share partners and a volunteer network of over 200, La Soupe is not only able to distribute food directly into communities, but it is done through a trusted partner who is often providing other social services. The board oversees the operations of a 10,000 square foot space in Walnut Hills. |

| Position | La Soupe is seeking a person to help us with not only board governance, but also with passing some state legislation so that we can continue to do what we do best - to rescue, transform, and share but also be covered by the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Act. |

| Requirements | The board is seeking to grow the number of board members with people who obtain expertise in specific areas. One specific area that we are hoping to bring on will have a background in Human Resources. Since our move from 900 square feet on Round Bottom Rd., our team has grown to more than 25 full and part time positions. We are also seeking someone who would be a good representation of our Share Partner community to guide us and ensure we continue to support the food insecure in the most effective way. Another area of expertise would be someone from the medical field - a Doctor or Nutritionist to help us stay informed on the newest health issues and solutions that revolve around diet. |

| On-boarding | Our board is currently working on our onboarding process. Generally we over look a resume, have one or more current board members meet with the candidate, and if the fit feels right, vote. We do have our Bylaws in order and up to date. |
