Board Member – Fundraising

Our boardImpact 100 empowers women to dramatically improve lives by collectively funding significant grants that make a lasting impact in our community. Members join Impact 100 at $500 or $1,000 each, 100% of which is pooled together to make grants of $100,000 to local tristate nonprofit organizations.The Impact 100 Board of Directors is a working and governing board of the Impact 100 women's collective giving grantmaking network. It is through our Board of Directors that all programming, financial oversight, grant review, events, membership drives, recruiting efforts, marketing, PR, and social media are led by women ranging from 25 to 70 years old. Board terms are 3 years.
PositionImpact 100’s Development Chair is part of the Identity & Operations Cluster.  The Chair responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individual, corporate, and foundation sponsor prospects to become sponsors and supporters for Impact 100’s operations. The Development Chair will assemble and submit sponsorship requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with current and potential sponsor contacts, conduct prospect research, meet deadlines for sought event sponsorships. This position requires someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, as well as research and writing skills, is self-motivated, reliable, organized, thorough and timely. This is a volunteer position.

RequirementsImpact 100 Board members must be current members, or be willing to become a member at the start of their board term. Future board members meet 1:1 with our nominating chair to discuss interests and skills as well as future openings on the Board of Directors. Board of Directors are asked to attend 80% of monthly board meetings and signature events. Each Director has a specific job description from which they execute their responsibilities (the "working" part of the board) as well as their governing role.
On-boardingAll future board members "shadow" her predecessor for approximately 3 months before stepping into their role. This includes attendance at a board meeting, a Board Orientation, and meetings with her predecessor prior to beginning the role officially in January of any given calendar year.
Additional InfoResponsibilities:
  • Work with Impact 100 leadership to execute annual development plan/strategy to increase operating support for Impact 100.
  • Identify and solicit individual, corporate and foundation sponsor prospects.
  • Identify and resolve any potential competing sponsorships.
  • Adhere to sponsor guidelines as outlined in the Impact 100 policies and procedures.
  • Maintain contact and relationships with sponsor prospects.
  • Renew current major sponsorships and encourage upgrading sponsorship levels when possible.
  • Assemble sponsorships materials, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.
  • Ensure prompt acknowledgement of sponsorships received.
  • Maintain calendar and meet deadlines for event sponsorships.
  • Prioritize projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that sponsors receive full benefits of sponsorship, such as logo placement and promotion via Impact 100’s networks, social media, PR, etc.
  • Report progress in sponsorship research, sponsorship inquiry and outcome to the Impact 100 leadership
