Board Member – Fundraising

Our boardParental's Hope's Board of Directors has the overall duty to do the following to achieve it's mission to raise infertility awareness and provide emotional and financial support to couples battling infertility:• Create and review mission statement to ensure it articulates Parental Hope’s goals, means and primary constituents served. • Support Parental Hope’s officers and volunteers to ensure they have the moral and professional support to further Parental Hope’s goals. • Actively participate in the overall planning process and assist in implementing and monitoring the plan’s goals. • Determine which of Parental Hope’s programs are consistent with its mission and monitor the effectiveness of all programs. • Secure adequate resources for Parental Hope to fulfill its mission. • Approve Parental Hope’s annual budget and ensure proper financial controls are in place. • Adhere to legal and ethical standards and the norms. • Clearly define and articulate Parental Hope’s mission, accomplishments and goals to gain support from the community and enhance Parental Hope’s public image.
PositionParental Hope is a Cincinnati-based non-profit dedicated to raising infertility awareness and providing emotional support and financial support to couples battling infertility.  We are 100% voluntary.  We are looking for Board Members to start in 2020.  Candidates will be expected to lead projects related to fundraising, such as researching and submitting proposals for funding opportunities.

DonationWe strive for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.
RequirementsIndividual Board Members shall commit to a two-year term that have the following individual responsibilities:• Attend meetings and organizational events. • Be informed about Parental Hope’s mission, services, policies and programs. • Review agenda and supporting materials prior to meetings. • Serve on committees and offer to take on special assignments. • If possible, make a personal financial contribution to Parental Hope. • Inform others about Parental Hope. • Be an advocate for Parental Hope. • Keep up-to-date on infertility-related developments and trends. • Follow all policies and procedures. • Assist Board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities.
On-boardingThe onboarding process first includes an interview with Co-Founders, David and Jennifer Bross. If appointed to Board, new Board Member will meet with President, David Bross, to review internal policy and procedures and provide overview of status of Parental Hope's current and future goals, projects, etc.
