Board Member

Our boardThe specific purpose of Hope For Kabingo, Inc. is twofold:
  1. Partner with the villagers of Kabingo, Uganda and region to give them a “hand up” to break the cycle of poverty and provide hope for a better tomorrow.
  2. Support the primary and secondary schools of Saint Josephine Bakhita in Kabingo, Uganda-financially and otherwise.
The board members provide leadership and support in pillar areas of the villagers' daily lives: Education; Health & Wellness; Infrastructure; and Empowerment.The Executive Board (President, Vice Presidents focused on each pillar area, Secretary & Treasurer) are involved in monthly governance and oversight.The Full Board (the Executive Board plus about five At-Large Members) meet quarterly.
PositionVice President - Health & WellnessThis position would be ideal for someone with a background in Health Administration, or a clinician. Hope for Kabingo oversees a medical clinic, and village health services in the rural village of Kabingo, Uganda in Africa.

RequirementsBoard members are generally people of faith, with a desire to improve the lives of impoverished men, women and children in rural Uganda.Directors are expected to attend regular meetings, and provide expertise and guidance.Directors should have expertise in at least one of the following - health care, education, agriculture, mentoring and leadership, financial and legal matters, African culture.
On-boardingOnboarding can range from one or more meetings over lunch or coffee - to a two-week mission trip to Uganda.  Whatever the prospective board members needs will certainly be accommodated.This is a very friendly group of people who share a passion for this work.
Additional InfoThe Executive Board meets 6-10 times per year. Our board members share a passion for helping children and adults in the rural village of Kabingo, Uganda, Africa. Previous work with a global / international organization would be a huge plus.
