Board Member
Our board | Keep Cincinnati Beautiful is losing almost 25% of its Board this year due to term limits. We are a working/governance board with unique opportunities to shape local policy, engage with some of Cincinnati's finest corporations through corporate social responsibility initiatives, and make Cincinnati cleaner, safer, healthier, and more connected.Our Board is making a concentrated effort to expand diversity and connect with professionals in the areas of fundraising, business analytics, legal, and financial institutions |

Position | KCB have 6 meetings per year and expect attendance for 5 and 1 can call in remotely. We ask that board members attend fund raisers, come to at least one clean up event in the year, and participate on one committee. KCB also asks the Board to help lobby with Cincinnati Council Members and the Mayor and Public Services to keep our contract and the amount we receive each year. We also ask our Board Members to make a donation but do not give guidelines on the amount. Current board terms are 3 years. There is also an Advisory Board with a smaller set of commitments and a Young Professionals Board that is primarily a fundraising Board.First a Board Member will meet with a potential Board Member candidate as well as the ED. Board candidates are welcome to tour our facilities, attend an event, or shadow a meeting, meet with Committee Chairs in which they have interest as part of the process. The Board Member and ED agree to send the candidate to the Board Meeting Floor for a vote once all of the previous mentioned is complete. We require a Photo and a Bio to send to the Board to review prior to the vote and the floor is open to discussion. Once voted and approved to join the board, the ED and the Governance Committee Chair will set with the new Board Member and go through the Board Training Manual, By-Laws and other documents used in Board Meetings. |
