Board Member

Our boardBoard members set policies for the organization and reviews the documents every 2-3 years.  Fundraising is a critical aspect of the organization that requires board members to be active by giving, getting, giving leads of potential donors to the Executive Director.  Some of the time that board members give to the organization throughout the year is to assist at special events.  Board members are to serve on at least one of the committees.

DonationWe require a specific amount of “give or get” for all board members.
RequirementsBoard members are required to volunteer 30 hours a year not including attending the board meetings. To be an active participant in board meetings and help raise funds. Board members should join at least one of the organizations committees. Board members are required to give at least $250.00 to cover membership in the organization, D & O insurance, and a donation.
On-boardingA meeting with the Executive Director to learn about the organization's history and programming. If potential board member still interested in being a board member a second meeting is scheduled with the Board President and Executive Director. Then the board will vote on the potential board member. A board manual will be given.
Additional InfoHeritage Village Museum and Educational Center is a 19th century living history museum owned and operated by Historic Southwest Ohio, Inc., a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization.  Located in Sharon Woods Park, the vision of Heritage Village Museum and Educational Center became a reality in 1972 with the arrival of the first of thirteen historic buildings.  All buildings are from the Tri-State area and all were originally constructed during the 1800s. Heritage Village Museum and Educational Center is open for tours from April-October and we host a wide variety of special events and educational programs throughout the year.Historic Southwest Ohio brings history alive, focusing on life in the late 1700s through the 1800s.
