Board Member

Our boardThe Venice on Vine board falls somewhere between a working board and an advisory board. We are a board of retirees, corporate people, non-profit people, education people, but we all feel a passion for the work being done by the staff, trainees, and volunteers of Venice. We want to do our best to contribute support to those endeavors.
PositionLooking for people with a passion for advocating that everyone deserves a good job. A job that enables them to be self sufficient and take care of their families. If you want to help sustain and grow this mission we would love to have you on board!

Members are expected to make financial contributions to the non-profit that are meaningful to them. Board members are also expected to support and volunteer at our annual brunch fundraiser. We are really looking for people who care about the people Venice is serving and want to spend some of their time and talents supporting that work.
On-boardingProspective board members will speak with a member of the Executive Committee and meet with the Executive Director. That candidate will then be presented to the full board at a meeting where a vote will be taken. If accepted the new member will be notified and sent all relevant information.
Our missionThe mission of Power Inspires Progress' (P.I.P.) programming at Venice on Vine is to create a sense of place, provide work skills development, and work history for individuals with chronic barriers to employment. Those barriers may include: generational poverty, lack of access to a quality education, a history of addiction, and/or a history with the court systems.
