Board Member

Our boardBoard meets once a month (2nd Thursday) from 5:30 to 6:30. Board currently consists of 12 individuals who are passionate about helping the Recovery Center develop and grow as it is a relatively new 501(c)3.
PositionWe are in need of a board member that has either grant writing, entrepreneurial, legal, business development, or event planning skills.The Recovery Center of Hamilton County  Board of Directors assists with the following: 1. Determine and support the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values. 2. Select and evaluate the performance of the Executive Director. 3. Provide financial oversight consistent with the mission of the organization. 4. Act in compliance with all legal and ethical responsibilities. 5. Participate proactively in Board and Committee meetings. 6. Recruit and mentor new board members. 7.  Actively support organization fundraising activities. 8. Provide resources adequate to achieve the mission of the organization, as appropriate. 9. Actively work as an ambassador for the benefit of the organization in the Community. 10. Monitor organization activities to assure compliance with the mission. 11. Develop professional relationships with the Executive Director and other supervisory staff with a view toward developing a better understanding of the functions of the organization.  All important organization information is discussed directly with the Executive Director.

DonationWe strive for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.
RequirementsAvailable to meet once a month and available to serve on a committee that may need an additional 1-3 hours a month of your time.
On-boardingAn application is given to a potential candidate to complete and is reviewed by the Governance Committee.If the committee approves, the Executive Director sets up an in-person interview of the candidate and gives a tour of the Recovery Center.  If the committee does not approve, the Executive Director informs the candidate.After the interview, the candidate may be invited to observe a Board Meeting.Voting: After the interview process and observing of a Board Meeting, the Board votes at the next meeting without the presence of the candidate.Joining: If the Board approves the new candidate, they are invited to join and will join at the next monthly Board Meeting.
