How to get kids involved in volunteering in Cincinnati

For years, adults have encouraged children to give back as a way to build moral character. A survey by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics based on 2016 data said about 1-in-4 people in the United States take time to volunteer.

Cincinnati lags behind its peer cities when it comes to engaging volunteers, said Doug Bolton, chief community relationships officer for Inspiring Service, which seeks inspire groups and individuals to volunteer in their communities. Inspiring Service manages an online community guide – www.boards.cincinnaticares.org – that lists and categorizes hundreds of volunteer opportunities in Greater Cincinnati. Cincinnati cares lists 435 ways for teens in Greater Cincinnati to help and 68 ways for children to help.
