The “off-months” provide time for board members to meet with their committees or do additional work. In general, the YPCC Board time commitment comes out to 2-3 hours per month, in addition to participating in the submission of two (Spring and Fall) email campaigns, coordinated by the staff. There will be one meeting scheduled for an all-day Saturday timeslot for strategic planning and training. Board Members are also expected to provide a monetary commitment to the organization; however, this commitment is not specifically defined. We ask that YPCC remains at the forefront of Board Members’ yearly philanthropic giving and that Board Members do not lead fundraising campaigns for other organizations in competition with YPCC. In addition, if Board Members have specific skill sets outside of those necessary for the committees, we may rely on them for provision of services tied to those skills: for example, the Board has a CPA who completes all of our taxes for us. The average yearly Board gift is about $500, but this is not set in stone. Summary • Help determine policy/vision and oversee Artistic Director and Executive Director staff activity; • 2-3 hours a month plus mailing campaigns, and one long strategic planning day; • Serve on at least one board committee • Monetary donation with YPCC as your “organization of preference” and/or provision of time/talent • General leadership in public spaces: social media, at rehearsals and gatherings, etc. Board Requirements Formatted Onboarding Visual Text YPCC has a rolling nomination process, allowing new board members to join throughout the year.
