A board member shall have the right to vote on all matters brought before the full Board of Trustees and be expected to attend all Board meetings. They must be informed of the organization’s mission, services, policies and programs and keep up to date on developments in the organization’s industry. A board member is also required to be an ambassador of the organization and its mission to potential donors and others within the community. Formatted Board Requirements Visual Text Board Requirements 1. A board member should be on at least one sub-committee (Internal, Development or UpSpring Benefit Bash) of the board of trustees. 2. A board member is required to attend at least 75% of all full board meetings and assigned committee meetings. Board member may call into meeting, if necessary. 3. A board member is required to directly raise or contribute $1,000 in each fiscal year. 4. A board member is required to attend a minimum of 3 organizational program events (Summer 360, Resource Collaborative, After School). 5. A board member is expected to review all agendas and supporting materials prior to board and committee meetings. 6. A board member is expected to certify annually that they have no conflicts of interest with the organization and that they have met the duties and requirements listed above. Term: A board member’s term will consist of two years beginning with the month they are elected to the board by the other board members. The term of service will be limited to three consecutive terms unless (a) voted by a three-fourths majority of the total number of Trustees and Officers to serve an additional term and (b) the Board is not fully seated.
