Typically, our community members- at-large simply serve only in an advisory capacity. Those on the board who are Academy members are the ones who do the work. We have 7 voting board members plus an artistic director and 2 or 3 committee chairs. Formatted Onboarding Visual Text Onboarding We invite interested leaders in the community to attend one or two board meetings and to attend at least one vintage dance class or period ball to determine if our organization is the right fit for them. We encourage them to meet with either the President or the Artistic Director to begin a dialogue. If there is interest, the new member may be invited to fill a vacant position, or will be included on the ballot for election at the annual meeting.
