Some members have been associated with GRAD for 16 years; others more recent. It is a working board. The over all strategic direction is focused on capacity building, revenue growth that includes building a financial reserve, expansion of services and brand awareness. Formatted Board Requirements Board Requirements It is expected that all Board of Directors attend the board meetings as planned. Each Director is expected to contribute financially to the board and serve on one committee. The Board of Directors shall have general and supervision and charge of the property, affairs and finance of the Corporation. Directors are elected by the members to serve three year terms. An annual Dinner is held yearly and Board of Directors are expected to attend and contribute. Directors do not have to live or work in our service area. Formatted Onboarding Onboarding There is a formal Nominating Committee. Once a name is nominated to the GRAD Board a luncheon meeting is held with the nominee to determine their interest level and if they are a match for the board as a whole. They are required to submit a resume with a letter of interest. The meeting consist of the nominating chair, chairman of the board and the executive director. Once the vetting is complete the names are presented to the board of directors for a vote. New board of directors are on-boarded in January. The candidate is given an opportunity to visit a school program or a school site with the executive director.
