Formatted Board Requirements Visual Text Board Members are expected to: <ul> <li>Exercise duty of care and loyalty to the Foundation by being informed, exercising independent judgment, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in good faith.</li> <li>Have and maintain a working understanding of the Foundation’s constitution, contract with Village of Evendale, Strategic Plan, Land Use Plan, mission, purpose, goals, objectives, and operating procedures and policies.</li> <li>Promote the mission of the Foundation and Farm, as well as activities and events.</li> <li>Prepare for and attend at least 80% of all Board meetings.</li> <li>Be an active member of at least one Committee of the Board.</li> <li>Support the development efforts of the Foundation which may include recruiting donors and sponsors.</li> <li>Recruit quality board member candidates as needed and in alignment with the direction of the Board.</li> <li>Focus on the strategic direction of the Foundation while supporting and appropriately deferring to the experience, expertise and management of the Foundation Staff with respect to day-to-day operations.</li> <li>Pledge to contribute to the Foundation no later than January 31 of each year (or by the end of your first month as a Board Member).</li> <li>Support the Farm’s annual fundraising event, Row by Row, in a meaningful way through attendance, sponsorship, and/or donation.</li> <li>Show support of the Foundation Staff and value their hard work with the annual Sunflower Festival by volunteering for at least one shift (barring unforeseen scheduling circumstances).</li> <li>Familiarize myself with the Farm and Staff by visiting or volunteering at the Farm.</li> <li>Be respectful of views, opinions, and concerns of the other Board members, the staff, and the public.</li> <li>Maintain the confidentiality of strategic, personnel, financial, and other sensitive information.</li> </ul> Board Requirements Formatted Onboarding Visual Text On-Boarding consists of an in-person walk-through of our operations as well as general information session covering a packet of information with an existing subset of the Board and Executive Director.
