(Giving Life a Dream) House's Board of Directors is a working board and is the backbone of the agency. The committees provide expertise and support to GH in regards to Finance, Human Resources, Development, Governance, Programming, and Strategic Planning. Our Board of Directors are passionate about providing a comprehensive mental health after school and summer program to school age children of addicted parents at no cost to the families. We strive for 100% board financial participation and do not require a certain amount for an annual donation. We would like Directors to use their time and talents to enhance the services provided by GLAD House and to spread the word about the wonderful outcomes, fundraisers, and success of our program. Board Description Formatted Board Requirements Visual Text Each Director shall serve a term ending at the third Annual Meeting following such Director’s election, or until such Director’s successor is elected and qualified, or until such Director’s earlier resignation, removal, or death. Terms shall be staggered for continuity, and Directors may be elected to shorter terms as shall be necessary or appropriate to provide for the terms of approximately one-third of the Directors to expire at each annual meeting. Directors can serve three consecutive terms. Directors are expected to attend Director’s meetings on a regular basis. Each Director is required to participate on one agency committee. The committees meet either monthly or quarterly. Directors may elect to serve on one or more committee if they have multiple interests. Board Requirements Formatted Onboarding Visual Text Once approved by the Board of Directors, Governance Committee or Executive Director will provide a board manual and board orientation before candidate’s first board meeting. During these discussions the various committees will be discussed and the candidate will make a decision about the committee they want to serve on. Board orientation includes the following: Conflict of Interest, Confidentiality Agreement, Code of Conduct, volunteer handbook, and Harassment and Sexual Abuse Prevention policies. Once the candidate has been approved to become a board member, the new member’s information will be sent via email by the Executive Director to GLAD House Development Coordinator to be added to the board email list and the GLAD House mailing list. Development Coordinator will update any agency materials (such as its letterhead, web page, Gift Works, committee charters, board list, as applicable) where the board members are identified to the public.
