Our Board is hands-on, relating to policy and financial governance. The Board has oversight on new hires; however, the Board is not involved with the staff's performance evaluation, except for the Executive Director. Dohn's Board is exceptional in its performance of fiscally sound governance. Anyone familiar with charter schools knows that Dohn's longevity is outstanding. This success is due to the effectiveness of Dohn's Board and the positive working relationship between the Board and the school leadership. Dohn's Board has the following Committees: Financial Development Building Race and Equality (suspended due to COVID and the challenge of meeting virtually for 20+ people, which include staff members) Board Description Formatted Board Requirements Requirements for Dohn Board Membership include: Appreciation of charter schools as an effective educational option for some students Diversity by age, race, gender A background in education helps, though not necessary.
